The silver-coloured smoke alarm is an optical smoke detector which reacts speedily to all forms of visible smoke, including slow growing fires.
This optical smoke alarm is "intelligent". It is micro processor programmed so that the alarm, daily, checks and adjusts its own sensitivity for optimal smoke detection.
It features an acoustic and a visual warning alarm, of course in case of fire, as well as when the battery needs changing, when it needs cleaning or in the event of a malfunction.
The red button is used to test and to reduce the sensitivity for 10 minutes in order to avoid false alarms, for example, smoke arising from a cold fire place.

Working principle: | Reacts more instantly to smoke from smouldering embers when compared to for example ionisation detectors. | Technical specification: | Power source approx. 10 uA.

Pause function by pressing red test button, which reduces the sensitivity to 50% for 10 minutes in order to avoid a false alarm, for example smoke arising from a cold stove or while cooking in the kitchen.
Reverts to normal operation (100% sensitivity) after 10 minutes.
